The Next Day...

Despite having a late night, I woke up really early! I was awake by 10am!

My buddy Alex followed me to Paya Ubi Industrial Park to look around for replica bucket seats... Oh well, I know some of you might ask why I bother to spend $ to buy a replica one.. I didn't have enough money at that point of time... I only had about $2000 to fix and accessorized certain things in the car...

I got myself a momo gear knob, customized car mats and a replica Recaro bucket seat that particular day... Oh boy.. It was a long wait!

So finally at 6pm, my bucket seat was installed and I zoomed off to fetch my sister from work... It was their first time meeting...

I wondered if my sister liked her...

Life Above 8000 Revs...

I could have settled for an Eg6 too... A nice sleek exterior of a 3 door... A MUCH cheaper alternative to the 3 door Ek4. However, I couldn't bring myself to accept it's crappy interior and it's date of registration... 1992...

I collected the car from her direct owner around Bukit Timah Road, Enrique. He was kind enough for me to take over her before the intended date of transfer. As long as I had my insurance papers with me.

After signing on the very last dotted line, he passed his keys over to me...

"Thanks Kerr Chuen, drive safe... Anything just give me a call..."
"Sure..."

My Car... She wasn't a beauty... She did not have the looks of her 3 door counterparts... She had a lousy paint job, as if she had been through years of torture... She was plain simple...

She was accessorized with a metallic blue cold air intake funnel, K&N drop in filter, sparco 3-spoke sports steering wheel and a supersprint exahust system...

I started her up and gave her a few gentle revs...

*vroooom... VRRoomm..*

Her heart was perfectly fine... I took her gently to the T-Junction and turned out to the main road and slided into the 3rd gear...

I waited for a chance, a clear road... I gently down shift to gear 2 and floored her accelerator to the floor board... Oh my!!! The force was exhilirating! In a short 2 seconds, I was beyond 8000 revs...

It was just the beginning... A project that awaits me... A project to rebuild her... From scratch...
