New Gears

Hello people! I haven't been updating my blog for a very long time... Of course, now that I've started again means there are new goodies in my car!

First and foremost, I would like to thank JMotowerkz again for doing such a great job.

I finally had the funds to do a full overhaul. With new OEM pistons, conrods, bearings... Etc. Can't wait for my next servicing before I release the 170bhp B16! ;)

On top of that, I had my gearbox ratios changed and I'm also now on straight cut gears! Woo hoo!!! You gotta love the whine!!! It's damn shiok!! Hahahah..

- Open Pod Air Filter
- Exhaust System

Discontinuation of Type-R

Japanese press site 47News claims that Honda will be announcing the discontinuation of the Honda Civic Type R FD2R on the 19th of April 2010, which is basically this Monday. The report was published on the 15th, a good two weeks after April Fool’s day so it’s definitely not a joke, but then again we’re not discounting that it could be some pretty wild speculation.

Finally

It has been 3 days since I collected her from JMotowerkz.

Honestly speaking, I wasn't very happy with some minor stuffs. Need to go back to get some problems rectified.

- Steering column still has knocking sound
- Exhaust flange knocking onto anti-sway bar
- Windscreen leaking a little bit of water
- Paintwork could have been done a tad better

Anyway, despite all these, I had fun driving my car around that day!

Last but not least, my friend had helped me with a photoshoot... Here are some of his works and mine.

Thanks Hendry!

3 More Days

At last, she is whole again!

Only left with the front and rear windscreen and the JDM EK9 cluster to be placed and she's good to go!

Can't wait for Saturday to come. I bet I won't be sleeping this Friday night!

Update

Was getting bored of my c++ assignment when I suddenly heard some beepings on my phone. "Tham Yong Tian has tagged 7 photos of you."

I immediately browsed to facebook and saw these photographs! My my.. Was I darn happy to see my baby!

Here are some of the before and after photos of my car... This was how she looked like before entering the spray shop.

Spot welding and body alignment has already been done, waiting for her turn to get a new coat of white paint! NH 565.

"Waiting for my turn to get new clothes!"

Aftermath of all the tar removal...

Closeup on the tar.

A very nice job indeed! Thank you JMotowerkz!

Haha, a pun indeed! I was preparing to head up for Sepang in 2009 when I had my oil cooler installed. I wanted save money, so I used a BBQ mesh to grille up my front to protect my oil cooler from stones.

Previously, sound proofing was on my door and had to be removed as well.

There you go, another good job well done by JMotowerkz. Thumbs up!

"I look so great in my new paint!"

Was really happy to see my car in this state and also what YT commented on the photograph... "not NH-0, but still looks damn good." It made me feel even better!

Now, I just need for Joker to piece her back and she will be ready soon... Hopefully before the Chinese New Year...

SOME PHOTOS

Here are some of the poorly taken photographs from my BlackBerry Bold. Nothing much, just to document those moments... But yeah, I did regret not bringing my DSLR, was too excited to even unpack my car and rushed her off to JMotowerkz.

THE LONG WAIT

It's been slightly over a month since I left my car at JMotowerkz. The long wait was torturing and every VTEC cars that I saw on the road made me feel agitated.

Sometimes, I wondered if I should have left her... Oh well, it was for the better.

For those who wondered what I am doing to the car again, here's the list...

- Chassis Straightening
- Spot Welding
- Body Paint (NH 565, Grand Prix White)
- Rim Paint (8C6, Porsche GT3RS Orange)
- Front Sports Grill
- EK9 Lip
- Face Lifted Rear Bumper
- Fiber Bonnet
- New Headlights
- New Rubber Seals
- Crossmember
- Steering Rack
- New Windscreen
- mFactory Rear Lower Arms
- New bushings
- EK9 Dashboard Cluster (180km/h)
- Handbrake Cable
- Engine Servicing
- Gearbox Oil Change
- Removing ABS
- Stripping of Uncessary stuffs

I guess, this is pretty much the stuff that I'm doing. Can't wait for the car to come back!
